Nothing, but
faded memories to mark
the shapes and signs- painted
along forgotten walls, scattered
fragments- lost in time.
Footprints and bits of
broken bytes sketched within
tapestry’s lines; the home of faded
accolades- a place for ebbing
souls- a shrine.

Long, empty
stares without a sight;
dashes and glimpses flashed
in and out-remnants and bits of
simple pleasures, the real
treasures- once
deprived.
Mirages- offered
sacrifice- packets of thoughts, of
dreams denied; scrawled in
planes and hidden slopes;
yearnings- immortalized
by time.

Emblem

In Art, Contemporary English Poetry, Contemporary Poetry, Ethnopoetics, Literature, Modernist Poetry, Poems, Poetry, Poetry by Filipino, Surrealist Poetry, World Poetry on 16/04/2011 at 8:58 am

Shadowy prints
Echoes of words spoken
once real- but
No more.

A memory of
glances once thrown
meant to be in passing, but
caught within the webs of eternity.

You wondered-
what would remain after the
breaking of a new day- Silence
shouted back with a
deafening roar.

Clarity came-
to steal the stillness of
the forthcoming night.

The dice were rolled, and
Calm set in- yet all the while
Chaos has been slowly rising from
the womb of the labyrinth.

Eternal rhymes found home
along cycles of infinity.
And the emblem became
Stillness.

Translucent Shores

In Contemporary English Poetry, English Poetry, Ethnopoetics, Literature, Modernist Poetry, Poems, Poetry, Poetry by Filipino, Verse, World Poetry on 11/02/2011 at 1:20 pm

Along the empty harbor,
Breakwater’s lonesome shores
You seek for sign of freedom;
Sweet sacrifices, lost.

Within the sheltered meadows
You hope to find the cure
The healing touch of pleasures
To fill a barren soul.

In this asylum of wishes,
The past, frozen in frames
Lined on dimly lit corners
With faded prints to grace.

Canvasses on limestone walls
Adorned your austere world
Timeless tales hidden, untold
Missing parts of the whole.

Dreams faded with the sunset
Like lost, redeemer’s hope;
The sinking helm of reasons
Spoken through a song.

You lived to change the seasons,
Drifting within your world
As you pursue life’s signet
Along translucent shores.
